From the center of Pescara
Take Viale Marconi to the Asse Attrezzato, then follow the signs for Abruzzo International Airport. Estimated travel time: 10 minutes.
Landing at Pescara Airport “Pasquale Liberi” often feels like your first real taste of Abruzzo. It’s a small, straightforward airport, far from the rush of major hubs — and that’s exactly what makes it pleasant. As soon as you step outside the terminal, the Adriatic Sea is just minutes away, and the Abruzzo hinterland, with its hilltop villages, national parks and mountains, already feels within reach.
The airport is located less than four kilometres from Pescara’s city centre, which makes getting started incredibly easy. In just a few minutes you can reach the city, the main train station or the key roads linking the coast to inland Abruzzo. It’s one of those airports where there’s no need to rush: quick check-in, smooth security checks and compact spaces make the whole experience surprisingly relaxed.
Over the years, the airport has been modernised while keeping its human-scale feel. You’ll find cafés and snack bars for a pre-flight espresso, a few shops, free Wi-Fi and all the essential services travellers actually need — whether you’re flying solo, with friends or as a family. Flight connections include both domestic and international routes, making Pescara a convenient gateway not only to Abruzzo, but also to neighbouring regions like Molise and southern Marche.
Abruzzo International Airport (PSR) is ideal for travellers who prefer a stress-free start to their journey and want to ease into their trip at a slower pace — maybe with a first glimpse of the sea or the plan to head inland soon after, towards the trails of the Gran Sasso or the iconic trabocchi along the coast. It may not be Italy’s biggest airport, but it’s one of those you remember fondly: simple, efficient and genuinely traveller-friendly.
