2,4 Registration and Login via Third-Party Services (Social Login)

Users can register or log in to SearchGo using external authentication providers such as:

  • Google
  • GitHub
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Other providers supported by the platform

When using Social Login, SearchGo receives from the provider the data strictly necessary to create or authenticate the user account, including:

  • first and last name (if available)
  • email address
  • profile picture
  • unique provider ID
  • authentication token information

These data are used solely to:

  • create or authenticate the user account
  • enable secure login
  • keep the connection between the user and the chosen provider

SearchGo never posts anything on the user’s social accounts and does not access any content or activity within the user’s social profile.

The legal basis for processing data through Social Login is:

  • performance of contractual/pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • explicit user consent when choosing to log in via social provider (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

Users may disconnect their social login at any time by adjusting their account settings or contacting the Data Controller.


3. Purposes of the Processing

Data is processed for:

  • website operation and performance
  • user account registration and management
  • publication and moderation of user-generated content
  • sending newsletters with explicit consent
  • anonymous statistical analysis
  • administration of advertising services
  • security and fraud prevention
  • responding to support requests


4. Legal Basis for Processing

Processing is based on:

  • user consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
  • performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
  • legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c))
  • legitimate interest of the Data Controller (Art. 6(1)(f))


5. Processing Methods

Data is processed electronically with adequate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

No unauthorized automated decisions or profiling are performed.


6. Data Retention

Data is stored only for the necessary time:

  • user accounts: until deletion is requested
  • user-generated content: until modified or removed
  • server logs: up to 30 days
  • newsletter data: until consent withdrawal
  • cookies: as specified in the Cookie Policy


7. Data Communication and Disclosure

Data is not sold.

It may be shared with:

  • technological partners (hosting, email services)
  • integrated third-party platforms
  • public authorities when required by law

All partners are appointed as Data Processors under Art. 28 GDPR.


8. Transfer of Data Outside the EU

Possible transfers occur only with:

  • countries with an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR), or
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC)

According to Articles 15–22 GDPR, users have the right to:

  • withdraw consent
  • request data portability

10. Newsletter

By subscribing to the newsletter, the user’s email is added to a mailing list used to send periodic communications.

Unsubscribing is possible at any time through the link included in each email.

15. Disclaimer on User Content

User-generated content reflects only the opinion of the author and not of SearchGo.

SearchGo does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or completeness of such content.

Users must not upload:

  • sensitive data (Art. 9 GDPR)
  • data of minors without consent
  • third-party personal data without permission
  • illegal, violent, defamatory, or harmful content

SearchGo may remove inappropriate or unlawful content without notice.

16. Conditions of Use for User Content

Users agree not to publish content that:

  • infringes copyright
  • promotes discrimination, violence, or illegal activities
  • contains false or misleading information
  • includes unauthorized advertising

External links included in content remain under the full responsibility of the user.
